Preeclampsia usually occurs during the last trimester of pregnancy and can lead to the breakdown of red blood cells, impaired liver function and even seizures.
Dr. Yael Ne’eman, a gynecologist in the delivery room, said that a cesarean section had to be carried out to stabilize the mother and save the baby. A team that included two gynecologists, two pediatricians, a midwife and three nurses delivered the healthy baby girl that was born at a weight of 4.85 lbs. The mother and daughter are thankfully in good condition.
The new mother once had a uterus tumor removed and had undergone years of fertility treatments.
“The greatest happiness in my life was when the team showed me my daughter. I have waited so many years for her,” she told reporters.
