President Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner is also one of his senior advisors. He is joining Jason Greenblatt today in Israel for meetings in Jerusalem and Ramallah in an attempt to resume direct peace talks between the Israelis and Palestinians.
“The purpose of the meetings is to bring to a renewal of negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, a long process that will require many visits for both of them in Israel and in the Palestinian authority”, a White House spokesman said. “During this time we will continue to stress to the parties that attaining peace is possible and brings benefits with it.”
Special Middle East Envoy, Jason Greenblatt already began his rounds of visits to Jerusalem and Ramallah having come to Israel 2 days ago. Today he is slated to meet with Netanyahu in the middle of the day. Today Jason is being joined by Jared Kushner and according to both of them Trump is determined to get concrete results from these efforts.
Yesterday Netanyahu strongly attacked the PA president Abu Mazen and wrote: “Stop poisoning the minds of Palestinian youth. Abu Mazen says he educates the Palestinian children for peace. This is a lie.”
Netanyahu added: “Last week the PA named a square after the terrorist Haled Nazal who planned the Maalot massacre in 1974 when Palestinian terrorists killed 22 school children and 4 adults.”
“Naming a public square after a murderer teaches Palestinian youth to kill. This is the exact opposite of peace. Not surprisingly, Abu Mazen’s Fatah movement accepted responsibility for the deadly stabbing attack by the Damascus gate and decorated the house of one of the terrorists with flags.”
