UNESCO Awards Machpela Cave to PA and Murderous Hebron Mayor

EU Funded Arab Settlement was Thwarted: In the Kedar region Arabs with supplied funded by the EU wanted to make an illegal outpost settlement. The “Forum of the Jerusalem Belt” discovered a group of Arabs attempting to create an outpost settlement in the Kedar region with materials funded by the EU. They summoned authorities that stopped them and confiscated the materials and destroyed structures. This time the authorities acted swiftly but the forum says there are over 800 illegal terrorist structures along route 1 going from Jerusalem to the Dead Sea that still need to be destroyed. The defense establishment has to want to destroy these Arab ‘facts on the ground’ at least as badly as the hypocritical EU wants to build them.

Today UNESCO passed a resolution with votes 12-3, and six abstentions, which declares the Tomb of the Patriarchs in Hebron an “endangered Palestinian heritage site.”

Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman: “UNESCO is politically biased, embarrassing, and anti-Semitic… and makes scandalous decisions… together with our great friend the United States… halt funding to this organization.”

Deputy Foreign Minister Tzipi Hotovelli:  “You could get the same automatic majority to vote on a resolution that the sun rises in the West and sets in the East… the Cave of the Patriarchs will remain under Jewish sovereignty and UNESCO will cease to exist as a heritage organization…This is a mark of shame for UNESCO”.

Israel ambassador to the UN Danny Danon: “UNESCO lost its last remaining shred of credibility with this shameful and offensive attempt to sever the ties between Israel and Hebron. It is an aggression and discrimination to separate us from the burial grounds of our forefathers.”

Education Minister Naftali Bennett: “Hebron was the cradle of King David's dynasty, the Machpela Cave was the first Jewish land acquired in Israel and our nation's fathers and mothers burial place. It’s one of our most ancient heritage sites. No vote will change that.”

Public Security Minister Gilad Erdan: “UNESCO concentrates on Hebron which was never threatened instead of historical sites in Aleppo, Palmyra, Mosul, and other areas, which ISIS is actively destroying. Their obscene falsehood is exposed.”
