Yesterday was the 17th of Tammuz, a day when the nation of Israel joins together to cry about placing an idol in the holy temple. But some people consider it a day off.
Reporter and commentator Ariel Schnabel posted about the ‘Ezrat Yisrael’ egalitarian part of the Western Wall complex yesterday showing it to be empty of worshippers; “even foxes didn’t roam there.”
Ariel posted 2 pictures to compare prayers yesterday (Tuesday) the 17th of Tammuz fast day. “The top picture is the orthodox area and the bottom one is the ‘Ezrat Yisrael’ area which is meant for other streams of Judaism like the reform to come pray at the Western Wall in their own style (egalitarian)” Schnabel writes. “This isn’t just another day on the Jewish calendar. On this day the walls of Jerusalem were breached and the destruction began. And even on this day the (Ezrat Yisrael) plaza is totally empty. It’s fortunate that foxes didn’t roam there.”
“So now you decide- does the reform need the ‘Kotel deal’ or are they just being led by special interest groups? If you’re fasting have an easy fast” concludes Ariel Schnabel.
