Hezbollah celebrates 11 years since its last war with Israel: In a public display Hezbollah organized a large motorcade of car honking, waving flags and shooting fireworks by the Israeli border in Kfar Hiam where fierce battles took place during that war. Nasrallah warns that the next attack they make will be far more lethal. Some Israeli tourists enjoyed the show and others that missed it were disappointed. They are obviously unperturbed by the show of Arab bravado typical in the Middle East.
Laws are being proposed to require protection devices to prevent people from forgetting their children in cars. In the past decade 22 children died from this. Israel homeland security recommended installing technology in cars to prevent this unfortunate possibility from happening and this was after they conducted a survey among parents who thought it was a good idea.
In Akbat Jabber, southwest of Jericho a soldier was hurt from rock throwing during a military operation. He was treated and sent back to active duty.

At least 18 killed in African tourist restaurant: In Burkina Faso 4 men riding motorcycles opened fire at a Turkish restaurant Sunday evening, killing at least 18 people. It is suspected that they are Islamic extremists though no one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack. This is the second such attack in 2 years where a restaurant that is popular with foreigners was targeted. A Turkish tourist and a French tourist were among the victims. Security forces shot the terrorists but it may have taken a while as there was still shooting 7 hours after the start of the attack.
No less than 91 volcanoes were discovered buried under the Antarctic ice cover. This means if an eruption was to occur it would melt a lot of the 2 kilometers of ice covering the frozen continent. This would raise sea levels drastically.
US is “locked and loaded” and North Korea is “on standby… and capable of fighting any war the U.S. wants.” Marine Corps Gen. Joseph Dunford, as Joint Chiefs of Staff chairman is visiting South Korea, Japan and China in an effort to coordinate their next steps in stopping the North Korean nuclear threat.
