It is written in the Sefer Habrit: “There are seven orbits, each of which has one star. They are called kochvei lechet (literally, ”stars that travel”) because they all rotate in an orbit. The acronym of these seven stars’ Hebrew names is שצ”ם חנכ”ל . They exist in this order in the celestial world just as they exist in this world (the seven lower spheres). They represent the concepts of: Chesed (kindness), Gevura (strength), Tiferes (majesty), Netzach (eternity), Hod (splendor), Yesod (foundation) and Malchut (kingship).
According to Etz-Hachaim, each one has a angel which is its soul.
Saturn’s angel is called Kaftziel.
Jupiter’s angel is called Tzadkiel.
Mars’s angel is called Samael.
Sun’s angel is called Raphael.
Venus’s angel is called Anael.
Mercury’s angel is called Michael.
Moon’s angel is called Gavriel.
The kabbalistic view, which agrees with the views of the philosophers, is that angels orchestrate the spheres, and each of the seven stars is controlled by 2 constellations of stars in the firmament, besides the Sun and the Moon which are controlled by only one constellation.

The Moment of Birth
The gemara in Shabbat discusses how a person’s moment of birth affects him. The day of the week affects his character. Kabbalistic works mention that one’s birthday, one’s moment of birth and the star that was prominent at the moment of birth all effect a person.
The following table explains how the seven stars affect a person.
One who is born under the sun, will enlighten the world with his Torah, just as the sun gives light to the world. He will obtain his food and drink independently and will not need the benefactions of others. He will not conceal his secrets, but will be like a sun that generously provides its light to all. If he attempts to steal, he will not succeed.
One who is born under Venus, will be wealthy and an adulterer. Why an adulterer? Because fire is related to that zodiac sign, lust will burn in him like a crucible.
One who is born under Mercury, will be intelligent and clear like the brilliance of the sun, since this star is the closest to the sun.
One who is born under the Moon, will suffer evils similar to the moon that wanes every month. He will build and demolish what he built, and will demolish and build what he demolished, just as the moon wanes every month. This person will depend on others for his food and drink, just as the moon trespasses on the boundary of the sun and tries to rule and be seen during the day.
His secrets will not be exposed, similar to the moon which does not give off light. If he will steal, he will succeed.
One who is born under Saturn, his thoughts will come to nought and will not reach fruition. Others explain that the thoughts that others think about him will come to nought.
One who is born under Jupiter will give charity generously to the poor.
One who is born under Mars, will be a shedder of blood. His trait may express itself in one of several ways: he can be a bloodletter, or a robber who sheds blood, or a butcher, or a ritual slaughterer or a mohel. A rabbinical judge who decides capital cases is also considered one who sheds blood.
