The Degel Hatorah meeting on Wednesday night was graced with the presence of high ranking U.S. officials. Jason Greenblatt, President Trump’s envoy to the Middle East came to the meeting. He was on his way to the airport after a round of visits to Arab leaders and representatives in Jordan when he stopped to visit the meeting and get some advice and blessings from the Torah sages present.
Before The Rosh Yeshiva (head of the yeshiva-dean) of Ponivezh Yeshiva Rabbi Gershon Edelstein went into the meeting he met outside with Jason Greenblatt. MK Uri Maklev who was present told Rabbi Edelstein that “Greenblatt is a religious man, a graduate of Yeshiva, a man of faith who is helping the “Country of kindness” to help The Jewish nation and the country of Israel.”
Rabbi Edelstein asked “Is this an important position?” Greenblatt shook the Rabbi’s hand and answered “it’s a very serious position”. Then Jason asked the Rabbi, “Perhaps the Rabbi can tell me how I will have the strength to carry out my mission?” Rabbi Edelstein answered, “When a person does good and wants to do good he gets divine assistance, they help him from heaven.”
