The Mumbai Chabad House is getting a 6 million dollar overhaul: The Mumbai Chabad Shaliach, Rabbi Yisrael Kozlovski and his wife Chaya are unveiling the new renovation plans for the Chabad House and showing them to Prime Minister Netanyahu. The renovation includes a rooftop memorial monument with the names of the 170 people murdered in the terrorist attack 9 years ago and a special corner dedicated to the memory of the Chabad ‘shalichim’ Rabbi Gavriel and Rivky Holtzberg. All six stories of the building will be renovated and there will be a special learning center in which non-Jews can learn about the 7 Noahide commandments. Naturally there will be a display and information about Judaism and important mitzvoth like family purity and wearing Tefillin. It will cost 6 million dollars and take until this November to complete. It will also include lounge corners, a library and decorative waterfalls.
Moshe Holtzberg unveils memorial to his slain parents: Returning to the Nariman Chabad House in central Mumbai on Thursday along with his grandparents and the nanny who rescued him 9 years ago Moshe Holtzberg unveiled a “living memorial” to his parents killed in a terror attack there over nine years ago. Moshe age 11 spoke about returning to Mumbai and invited Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to his Bar Mitzvah in Mumbai in two years’ time. Together with Netanyahu, the 11-year-old unveiled a memorial to those killed. Moshe’s Grandfather Shimon Rosenberg later made his own quiet dedication and lit a candle for his slain daughter and son-in-law. As he pointed to the floor he said: “This is the spot where they were killed, and where Moshe was able to escape from.”
Vice President Mike Pence will come to Israel this Monday: After a few delays the vice president and his wife are coming to Israel as official guests of Knesset Head Yuli Edelstein. Dozens of people from the white house and government will accompany the VP on this trip. The VP is also the president of the Senate and he will address the Knesset in a special Knesset session. Prime Minister Netanyahu will also speak in this session. After the Hebrew speeches by Netanyahu and other heads of state, the VP will speak to the Knesset in English. Israel President Reuven Rivlin, Supreme Court President Esther Hayut and other ministers and dignitaries will attend this special session together with VP Mike Pence.
Belgium feels bad for UNRWA: After Trump cancelled 65 million dollars in aid to UNRWA Belgium decided to minimize the hurt by offering 23 million dollars in aid to them. The Belgian vice president said: “For many Palestinian refugees UNRWA is their last lifesaving ring.”
Trump is giving “Fake News” awards but also had nice things to say about the remaining journalists that try to stay honest and he also focused on the good news. Last night President Trump Tweeted: “Despite some very corrupt and dishonest media coverage, there are many great reporters I respect and lots of GOOD NEWS for the American people to be proud of! ISIS is in retreat, our economy is booming, investments and jobs are pouring back into the country, and so much more! Together there is nothing we can’t overcome–even a very biased media.
