On January 20th Donald Trump will be inaugurated as 45th president of the United States. His advisers want to invite Israeli President Benjamin Netanyahu to the inauguration. Transition leaders led by Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner have been aggressively courting Netanyahu and want him to attend the Jan. 20 festivities, the source said.
If Netanyahu can’t attend the inauguration, they at least want to arrange a meeting of the two leaders before then, a source close to the transition said.
Netanyahu congratulated Trump on his victory a day after the presidential election, and stated that he is looking forward to working with him. Trump also invited the Netanyahu to meet him in the US at his “first opportunity.”
“There’s a plan for Trump to meet with Netanyahu, they’re talking all the time. And Netanyahu is talking about possibly going to the inauguration.” Said the source close to the transition team.
We hope their friendship flourishes for the benefit of Israel, the Jewish nation and the free world.
