Tensions between the US and North Korea mount: President Trump again stated that North Korea will regret any actions it takes against the US. Trump’s opponents accuse him of increasing tensions but his supporters believe that a firm stance must be taken against the runaway belligerence of North Korea.
A synagogue in Mecklenburg, Germany was vandalized: The synagogue which also is a Jewish community center was the target of anti-Semitic vandalism on Thursday when hooligans shattered doors and windows. Police agree this was an act of Anti-Semitism.
Late Shabbat afternoon during a White-supremacist rally in Charlottesville Virginia, An Ohio man drove his car into people protesting against the rally. He killed a 32-year-old woman and injured 19. This white supremacist event may have been the biggest in the states in a decade. Trump denounced the open show of bigotry and racism and sent condolences to the family of the 32 year old victim and the families of the police who died in a helicopter crash during surveillance of the rally.
Kuwaiti authorities recaptured Shiite terrorists who escaped last month after being found guilty of creating a terrorist cell backed by Iran and the Hezbollah. They also stockpiled weapons for attacks against the regime. The militia denies these charges. Since this affair Kuwait’s tensions with Iran grew and they closed many parts of the Iranian Embassy and expelled 15 Iranian diplomats.
